4over buys Scodix Ultra Pro with foil enhancement press

Published 23 June 2017

California, US-based wholesale trade printer 4over.com has purchased the Ultra Pro digital enhancement solutions press from Scodix.

The Israeli digital print solutions provider stated that the new press will be a ‘game changer’ for 4over, which has pioneered print order fulfilment for print brokers, commercial printers and industry professionals.

4over purchased Scodix Ultra Pro with a foil unit to expand its capabilities, which can be offered to their customers, allowing them to produce a wide range of specialty finishing products.

4over.com CEO Zarik Megerdichian said: “At 4over, we’ve always prided ourselves on offering an unprecedented product mix, best-in-class equipment and superior quality, and our nationwide delivery network is unmatched in trade printing.

“The addition of the Scodix digital enhancement system not only meets our production demands of speed and quality, but it enables us to create a robust new revenue stream. It’s a business opportunity that positions 4over at the forefront of newly emerging market segments in the print industry.”

Megerdichian said: “We launched Raised Spot UV on Suede cardstock and Raised Spot UV with Foil on Suede cardstock, and with the press, we are going to be able to expand those product offerings in some very interesting ways.”

Along with the Ultra Pro press, 4over chose to purchase the Scodix Foil Station. This is an optional module, but the company opted for it. It can run in-line with the press and is claimed to deliver unmatched foil enhancement capabilities.

It can deploy a range of hot and cold industry-standard foil films, along with a variety of substrates and processes, including offset, digital, plastics, laminated/non-laminated and coated and uncoated options.

Megerdichian stated that the press’ capabilities have removed cost restrictions for its customers, thus creating an appeal in the short and medium run markets with high-end products, at a fraction of the cost compared to others.
