PKBR Staff Writer Published 22 February 2012

Nichrome India, an integrated packaging machine manufacturer has exported a sugar assembling machine to a plant in Sudan for packing sweet crystals. Nichrome said the machine was supplied with feeding systems and conveyer belts while the order was bagged through Indian Sugar and General Engineering Corporation (ISGEC).

Nichrome managing director Harish Joshi said that the plant will deploy the machine to pack 700 metric tonnes of sugar daily.

"We also recently bagged an order from Germany to supply a horizontal form fill seal (HFFS) machine," Joshi said.

The company has secured a license from US-based Prodo-Pak Corporation to produce milti-lane high-speed sachet packing machines, mainly used for pharmaceutical and FMCG product packaging.

Nichrome's Pune facility produces 500 machines annually.
