Siegwerk to buy Brazilian ink manufacturer Tupahue Tintas

Siegwerk Druckfarben has agreed to acquire Brazilian ink manufacturer Tupahue Tintas for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Diadema of São Paulo, Tupahue Tintas provides flexo and gravure printing inks and varnishes for the local customers.

The company offers advanced ink solutions to meet the needs of packaging converters in the local market.

Tupahue Tintas produces a range of flexo and gravure printing inks and varnishes, which can be used for substrates such as LDPE, HDPE, BOPP, PP, polyolefin, polyester, aluminium, metallized films and others

Under the deal, Siegwerk will acquire Tupahue’s technical expertise and product portfolio, and the manufacturing equipment related to its headquarters in Diadema.

The acquisition will allow Siegwerk to expand its operations in the Latin American region and meet specific local market demands.

Siegwerk president and LATAM region head Andrea Serturini said: “With the purchase of Tupahue Tintas we add a well established ink provider with high quality products for packaging applications to the Siegwerk family.”

Siegwerk CEO Herbert Forker said: “Getting closer to customers and offering our solutions and services at the same high quality worldwide is one of our strategic goals.”

In October this year, Siegwerk agreed to acquire Netherland-based Van Son Liquids, a manufacturer of water-based flexo and gravure printing inks.

Under the terms of the deal, Van Son Liquids will transfer of all technical expertise, product portfolio and manufacturing equipment.
